Training

Private tuition and practitioner training

In addition to providing a range of therapies to clients, Body in Balance is also an independent training provider. I offer internationally recognised qualifications for student therapists and CPD courses for therapists already in practice. Body in Balance Training Logo

Body in Balance Training is

  • one of only two Bayly School of Reflexology approved centres in Scotland
  • a centre for CPD courses for complementary therapists

Bespoke training

Body in Balance Bespoke TrainingBespoke training is a unique feature of Body in Balance. In general, class numbers are small so that students can receive individual attention.

In addition, planning a course for a single student in response to their particular requirements is often possible.

Overseas students have found this particularly valuable as I can create a timetable to match their planned visits to the UK.

Course fees

Courses are priced individually in relation to a student’s requirements and recognised prior learning. I would encourage you to contact me to find out what we can plan together and to discuss course fees.

Application

Application to a course is based entirely on personal contact including a meeting when we discuss your requirements and you have the opportunity to view the training environment.

Once we have established your learning outcomes, I suggest a course schedule, advise on course fees, and then we proceed to a formal agreement.

Therapies awareness courses

I also offer short courses as an introduction to the field of complementary therapies.

These non-practitioner courses develop a level of expertise for personal use with friends and family.

Therapies awareness courses may also be a useful introduction to therapy training for those who want to find out more about therapies before committing to a professional training course.

Professional bodies

Mariette Lobo is on the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council Accredited Register

The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) is the UK voluntary regulator for complementary therapists.

CNHC was set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of complementary therapists.

CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Voluntary Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

Mariette Lobo is registered with the British Reflexology Association

The Bayly School of Reflexology is the official teaching body of The British Reflexology Association and was the first Reflexology training school to be established in Great Britain.

The Bayly Method of treatment is unique to The Bayly School in that the thumb is not flexed and extended in a caterpillar-like movement so the method is less stressful on the thumb (and finger) joints and the less rapid movement is considered to be more relaxing to the patient.
