Mariette Lobo

I began working as a Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) practitioner in Glasgow in 1997. I built up a multi-therapy, complementary healthcare practice, initially at Napier’s Glasgow and then at The Buckingham Clinic before setting up independently as Body in Balance Clinic.

I specialise in coMra Therapy, The Bowen Technique, The Emmett TechniqueTuina, Reflexology, Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Indian Head Massage, and Spa Therapies. I am a Master Teacher/Practitioner in Reiki.

In addition to my therapies practice I also run Body in Balance Training and I am a visiting lecturer with the Bayly School of Reflexology (Edinburgh). I previously taught at colleges in Glasgow and Kirkcaldy, and pioneered the use of complementary therapies in the field of cancer/palliative care at the Beatson Oncology Centre and TakTent Cancer Support. I am passionate about raising public as well as medical and professional awareness of the benefits of complementary therapies.

My training school, Body in Balance Training, combines the best of traditional and modern methods to provide top quality courses. I offer world class vocational qualifications and my aim is to provide world class learning to help my students achieve their full potential as therapists in a challenging yet supportive learning environment.

I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I am a PVG – Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) – scheme member in respect of regulated wok with adults and children.

CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Voluntary Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

Mariette Lobo is registered with the British Reflexology Association

Mariette Lobo is a member of The British Reflexology Association.

The Bayly School of Reflexology is the official teaching body of The British Reflexology Association and was the first Reflexology training school to be established in Great Britain.

The Bayly Method of treatment is unique to The Bayly School in that the thumb is not flexed and extended in a caterpillar-like movement so the method is less stressful on the thumb (and finger) joints and the less rapid movement is considered to be more relaxing to the patient.
