“It was a super weekend and I feel very fortunate to have such a fantastic tutor and colleague! It will be a long time until we meet again in person but I really hope to link in as much as I can in the meantime and will definitely be there in spirit on the course weekends! I really appreciate your professionalism, enthusiasm and motivation Mariette – it is an amazing course and you really go the extra mile! Thank you. Karen”
Very productive working lunch with Liam Baillie (http://www.liambailliewealthmanagement.co.uk/) yesterday. He will be delivering a seminar on the Business Practice for Complementary Therapies unit for my students on their VTCT Module 7 Reflexology practitioner course in a fortnight.
My client who used reflexology for fertility issues arising out of other health conditions and fell pregnant soon after, then continued with reflexology throughout the pregnancy interspersed with the Bowen technique and hypnotherapy when these interventions seemed more appropriate, has just delivered a healthy baby boy. All went well with the pregnancy too. Mum and baby will be back for Baby Tuina soon. Fantastic!
Fabulous session with Alasdair Aitken and his creative team at ITEK Digital. Made an executive decision to progress to a content management website, with a lot more functionality, that will reap huge benefits for my students, my therapy clients and myself. So exciting – and such a pleasure meeting Mark and Lewis.
Can’t believe I’ve just completed Module 5/12 with my Reflexology students. Time just flies when we’re having fun. Thanks to podiatrist Mark my guest lecturer who delivered a fantastic seminar on the anatomy and disorders of the foot, as well as fascinating session on bio-mechanics. And thanks to John who video recorded the session. You’ll both be invited back to Body in Balance Therapies Training Centre! Above all, thanks to the students who are doing ever so well.
Recent press release courtesy of Proof of Fife:
Mariette Lobo is gaining quite a reputation as Fife’s sports-injury miracle worker.
Earlier this year Liam Baillie, one of Mariette’s clients, was selected to run the London Marathon. He immediately contacted Mariette, of Body in Balance, as he knew that this would be one of the most challenging activities he had ever attempted, having only run 2 half-marathons in the previous 5 years. Mariette constructed a therapy schedule to run alongside Liam’s training to get his body in the best shape for the forthcoming race. Mariette is an expert practitioner of the ancient healing art, Tuina (“tweena”), which helped China to the medal table at both the Paralympics and Olympics in London last year. She used this art to propel Fife cyclist, Ian Donaldson (of Carters Charters Accountants) from Land’s End to John O’ Groats last year, despite a threatening back injury.
Liam’s therapy schedule included 3 pre-marathon sessions and 1 post-marathon Bowen Technique …
