Like other bio-electrical devices used to alleviate pain, SCENAR transmits electrical impulses from an electrode in its hand-held unit through the skin to the nervous system.

Unlike other bio-electrical devices, SCENAR reacts to changes in the body's response to these impulses.

There are no no undesirable side effects.

The aim of SCENAR therapy is to induce the release of enough neuropeptides to relieve pain and initiate a healing sequence through the body's own active feedback mechanisms.

The practitioner brushes the hand-held device over the appropriate zone until the client feels a slight tingling sensation. The client is encouraged to report any changes or sensations experienced.

The aim is to achieve a change in the client's condition during the treatment.

In some cases, the client may feel worse immediately after a treatment.

A Treatment session lasts around one hour for most people. For acute injuries, the treatment time is usually about 30 minutes.

In most cases, a client requires a minimum of 2 treatments (some acute conditions may resolve sooner). The results are usually immediate and long lasting.

I use SCENAR Therapy in my Body in Balance Clinic as a standalone therapy as well as an adjunct to other therapies.
